Pepe -

The glowing images painted by Pepe evoke a feeling of serenity. Pepe’s work offers a glimpse of true Hawaii through objectifying moments of warm light and an enduring love for the beautiful Aina ( land ). His focus on the movement of light shows Hawaii in a most unique and beautiful way. Pepe is a self-taught artist and has quickly become one of Hawaii’s most sought after artists. After years of studying the monochromatic values of light in black and white, Pepe continues to work in oils in the full color spectrum.

Steve Mei –

Steve Mei is an internationally collected artist and is best known for his evocative signature series titled “tropical deco”. Within this series, Mei creates uniquely bold and distinctively beautiful works depicting his beloved Kauai and the Islands of Hawaii. This series of works incorporates Mei’s stunning use of nostalgic island subject matter with bold, bright colors to create works both contemporary and traditional. Mei’s abilities as a graphic artist are also evident in his exquisite pen and ink renderings of island life.

Cher McMacken –

Cher’s background as an artist began as a young girl in Spokane,WA with oil painting lessons taught by her neighbor. She continued to study the arts throughout collage and boasts a life full of studying art, teaching art, painting and traveling the world. For fifteen years Cher’s focus was on mural art. Since moving to Kauai a few years back, Cher began to work on canvas, focusing on her passion for Kauai colors and the natural beauty of the islands. Her paintings capture the serene essence found within the beauty of Kauai.

Liedeke Bulder -

The Dutch have a saying, “zeg het met bloemen,” which translates into, “say it with flowers”. Nature and flowers have always informed the imagery for Dutch artist Liedeke Bulder. A current resident of Kauai, Liedeke has found much of her inspiration in the natural surroundings on Kauai. In particular, Liedeke’s fascination with moth orchids is the inspiration for her current show “winged”. “Moth orchids display such diverse human characteristics; they are simultaneously fragile, strong, elegant, exotic and bold.” Liedeke works in mixed media and loves the “immediacy of drawing and the spontaneous, energetic expression found in the interaction between hands and paper, medium and tools”.

Steve McMacken -

“Like lots of kids I enjoyed doodling. My specialty was airplanes – jets, rockets and almost anything in-between that was loud, or traveled fast.”  For Steve McMacken, this love for doodling has transformed into a life in the arts. Steve spent a number of years as a graphic designer and art director. After moving to Kauai a few years ago, Steve began to paint. Inspired by the natural beauty of Kauai and a collection of pictures from his time spent here over the last 25 years, Steve captures the islands’ beauty in his use of the vivid greens and blues in contrast to the red dirt earth. Steve’s stylized look sets him apart from all artists with a unique vision of space and composition.

Adrienne Mierzwa -

Adrienne Mierzwa works in a variety of media including oil and watercolor painting, drawing and printmaking. Her most recent collection, “visions of Hawaii” a series of original oils paintings done on linen, showcase Mierzwa’s delicate movement with her paintbrush and use of stunning Kauai colors. Mierzwa’s “goal in painting is to distill my feelings about a particular subject into a picture that will convey them to the paintings viewer, and hopefully evoke the same feelings, while exploring the use of color and composition. I love the process of putting paint on canvas and the beautiful effects it can create.”

Mike Coots -

Born and raised on Kauai, Mike Coots is surely on of Hawai‘is most up and coming professional and fine art photographers. Mike Coots is very well known within the surf community as a very accomplished surf, fashion and lifestyle photographer.  His fine art photography collection unveils his passion for nature photography and depicts his love for the beauty found within the ocean and on the land. Mike’s fine art photography images are limited edition signed and numbered  giclee prints.

Helen Turner -

Although Helen is native New Yorker, she has lived on Kauai since 1986. Inspired by the beauty of Kauai, Helen seeks to inspire people with her pastel landscapes. As one of Hawaii’s most recognized pastel artist, Helen, “seeks to enlighten the viewer with a sense of peaceful beauty. Pastel is such a vibrant medium, an opportunity to push my limits beyond what I would do with a brush. It is sheer joy to create art without anything between the artist and the paper but the fingertips.”
